Terence Crawford vs Yuriorkis Gamboa Scores HBO Boxing A Knockout Rating

HBO boxing scored some huge ratings last weekend with the Crawford vs Gamboa main event.  Average viewership for the boxing event was 1,208,000 viewers and it maxed out at almost 1.3 million viewers during the main event.

Terence Crawford is new to main eventing a HBO boxing show but by all accounts, promoter Top Rank, should be beyond thrilled with the success of the show.  Crawford put 11,000 fans into the Century Link Center and along with Gamboa, both men drew millions of fans to pro boxing on cable television.

Per FightNews.com, HBO boxing is the king of ratings when it comes to putting on a boxing event.  HBO has garnered top ratings for the top eight boxing shows on cable television in 2014.

For those who like to compare HBO boxing to Showtime boxing, it’s not even close right now.  HBO is still the king of boxing!!
