Floyd Mayweather annouces rematch against Marcos Maidana

Floyd Mayweather announced today that his next fight will indeed be a rematch against Marcos Maidana on September 13th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Mayweather made the announcement using the Shots app on his phone. Here is the original photo that he posted on Shots with the caption “Mayweather vs. Maidana 2 on September 13, Live on Showtime PPV. #Mayhem” :

After Richard Schaefer’s departure from Golden Boy Promotions last month, Mayweather stated that he will no longer be working with the promotion, however, it definitely looks like this fight will be co-promoted between Golden Boy Promotions and Mayweather Promotions.
