One of the greatest middleweights of all time, the current boogeyman in boxing, Gennady Golovkin (36-0, 33 KO’s) will be defending his multiple belts tonight against his toughest test to date, Daniel Jacobs. Jacobs (32-1, 29 KO’s), has been in the boxing game for a long time and has been extremely overlooked when it comes to talent and potential in the sport of boxing. Tonight, that’s about to change.

We believe that tonight will be a historic moment on HBO pay per view boxing (live from Madison Square Garden in NYC), where Daniel Jacobs will have the opportunity to face the man known as Triple G for the IBF, WBC, and WBA world middleweight titles. Actually, since Daniel Jacobs refused to be weighed today, he lost his opportunity to win the IBF world middleweight boxing title. But he can still secure the other two belts if he wins tonight.

When a solid welterweight, Kell Brook (36-1, 25 KO’s), moved up two weight divisions and put his undefeated record on the line against GGG on September 10, 2016, he was beaten and battered but he held his own in the early rounds of the fight. He landed more clean, effective shots on Gennady than anyone that we could think of. Despite the fact that David Lemieux was the strongest puncher that GGG had ever faced, it was the movement, footwork, defense, and combinations that Brook used that allowed him tremendous success against the Kazakh warrior. But as the time went on, it was the size and power of Golovkin that took a toll on Kell. GGG broke Brook’s orbital bone and the fight was ultimately stopped in round 5 when Brook’s corner threw in the towel.

Size won’t be in Golovkin’s favor tonight, though.

Daniel Jacobs, is significantly taller, bigger, and most likely stronger than Golovkin. Unlike David Lemieux, Jacobs uses a lot of movement and is extremely fast for a man his size. Even though the champ has taken solid shots from former opponents, he’s never faced a threat like Daniel Jacobs. Daniel is a man who faced cancer and beat it. He’s got the never give up attitude that few fighters have. Sure, many do have it but when it comes to overcoming just about anything because losing is simply not an option and winning will change your life tremendously, Daniel Jacobs knows that he’s got the opportunity of a lifetime here. A once in a lifetime opportunity. He knows that this fight is a Mike Tyson vs Buster Douglas fight of today. Jacobs knows that a win would open up the doors to millions of dollars for him and his lovely family. A loss would put him back to mid-card status and render him a solid contender but nothing more.

The Canelo Alvarez fight is the one that everyone wants Golovkin to take. It’s not Gennady’s fault. Anyone that follows boxing knows that Oscar De La Hoya does not want his top stud (Canelo Alvarez) to face GGG. We do believe that Canelo genuinely wants to test himself against Triple G but the outcome of that fight would more than likely be a highlight reel knockout win for Golovkin. For that very reason, brilliant promoter, Oscar De La Hoya is trying to avoid that fight altogether.

Sports betting has Golovkin as a huge favorite to win tonight’s main event. No one is giving Daniel a chance to win. We actually believe that Daniel Jacobs and his trainers have studied the Kell Brook fight against Golovkin and they’re preparing traps to set tonight. It will more than likely be a right out of the gate approach by Jacobs to win round 1 with a lot of combinations and counterpunches. That will probably be a prelude to the rest of the fight except that Jacobs will probably show footwork that no one in the middleweight division has shown. Abel Sanchez, Golovkin’s trainer, will more than likely not know what advise to his man once he sees Jacobs landing flush shots. It will be the movement, counterpunching, and powerful combinations that will allow Daniel Jacobs to drop and stop Gennady Golovkin at the Garden tonight. We expect the world to be stunned.

But anything is possible in combat sports.

For tonight’s main event, we predict a huge upset. Daniel Jacobs will more than likely stun the world and stop Gennady Golovkin at some point in the middle of the fight.

Does anyone else out there agree? Disagree? Please comment below as we would love to discuss this some more with our fans and followers.

Betting boxing these days? Well, Bryant “By-By” Jennings (19-0, 10 KO’s) is a 20:1 underdog in most betting circles against his opponent, “Dr. Steelhammer” Wladimir Klitschko (63-3, 54 KO’s). The American heavyweight will face a monstrous task in the 6’7” Klitschko at Madison Square Garden tonight.

The boxing event is a rare heavyweight card at the Garden since Klitschko hasn’t fought at that arena in seven years, when he defeated Sultan Ibragimov. NOTE: Ibragimov has not fought since that severe beat down.

HBO boxing shouldn’t expect record breaking numbers since Jennings isn’t a thrilling fighter to watch. And Klitschko is a safe heavyweight who only goes for the knockout if he sees an opening.

Hayden Pannetierre is the fiancée of Wlad and the couple have a daughter together. She will most likely be in attendance, as will Wlad’s older brother, retired heavyweight phenom, Vitali Klitschko.

We don’t consider this a title boxing fight since the chances of Jennings winning tonight are slim to none. It’s a pretty sure bet that Wlad will easily outpoint and maybe even stop Bryant in a not so thrilling main event.

Anything can happen in combat sports and boxing belts change quite often but when it comes to heavyweight boxing, there is none more commanding of his division than the one and only Wladimir Klitschko.

Our official prediction: Wlad Klitschko will probably win by way of ref stoppage in the late rounds. Sorry, Bryant. There’s no shame in losing to a Klitschko.

Trending Fighters: Wladimir Klitschko, Vitali Klitschko, Evander Holyfield, Mike Tyson, George Foremen, Bryant Jennings, Joe Louis, Joe Frazier

For their rematch, Floyd Mayweather, Jr and Marcos Maidana have each promised their fans victory in their lackluster promotion of this event. Maidana and most ringside boxing experts agree that in order to win, Marcos will most likely have to win by knockout. Seriously, how likely is that?

Although Mayweather’s legs are not what they used to be, the man is still extremely fast and he can still pack a punch. He may not be known for knockouts (unless his opponent is looking at the referee, of course), he still throws solid punches and lands clean very often. Maidana is simply too slow to get the job done against a defensive master like Floyd.

But does this mean that Maidana cannot win this fight at all? Is it simply impossible to knock out Floyd Mayweather? Not exactly.

After re-watching their first match a few days ago, I concluded that the fight was either a draw or Maidana actually won the fight, seven rounds to five rounds. According to sports betting experts, Floyd was a 12:1 favorite to win the first fight. Vegas casinos were not going to pay out tons of money in the case that Maidana actually won the first fight. There was simply too much at stake.

Marcos Maidana has hands of stone and he can certainly knock down just about anyone, but his only chance of earning an official victory this Saturday night against Floyd Mayweather will be via knockout. If he can knock out Floyd the way Antonio Tarver did to Roy Jones, Jr. in 2004, then there will be no denying him. But if this fight is close or even if Maidana does indeed win a majority of rounds, Floyd will get the official victory from crooked judges.

Boxing is a sport and those betting boxing know that to win a serious sum of cash in boxing is to hope for a spectacular knockout. Let’s refer to Canelo Alvarez getting a victory over Erislandy Lara in a fight where Lara clearly won at least nine rounds of the fight; Vegas casinos did not want to pay out huge sums of money so the fight ended in a screwjob decision.

Unfortunately, Marcos Maidana isn’t as huge a draw as Floyd Mayweather, Jr and can’t generate the kind of pay per view sales that Mayweather can. The judges and the boxing world will have no reason to award him a decision victory in the case that he deserves it. In boxing and combat sports today, unfortunately, no one cares about a travesty or a screwjob; it’s all about the next fight and about superfights like Manny Pacquiao vs Floyd Mayweather. With that fight on the horizon, it’s sad to say that no one cares to see Maidana win this Saturday because there is too much at stake and even the fans would rather see Pacquiao vs Mayweather than Maidana earn a victory against Floyd. So unless there is a blue moon out on Saturday, don’t expect to see Marcos Maidana earn a victory unless he can land that perfect shot on Floyd and knock him out.

TRENDING FIGHTERS: Manny Pacquiao, Floyd Mayweather, Oscar De La Hoya, Ricky Hatton, Adrienne Broner, Miguel Cotto

Gennady Golovkin (29-0, 26 KO’s) will be defending his WBA (super) and IBO middleweight titles against Australian star, Daniel Geale (30-2, 16 KO’s) at Madison Square Garden tonight, which will be shown on HBO boxing. Without a doubt, Geale is the toughest fight in Golovkin’s professional career and this could very well turn out to be a boxing event for the ages.

Daniele Geale has the better resume since he has faced and beaten Anthony Mindine, Roman Karmazin, and even Felix Sturm. Golovkin also has a good resume but no one on his record is as big a star as Geale. HBO Boxing knows that Gennady Golovkin is a major star for them already and the silent assassin from Kazakhstan has an ever growing following among the American public as well as the Russian viewership so it should come as no surprise that the man known here as “Triple G” is main eventing tonight’s boxing event.

Keys to victory for Daniel Geale: use a whole lot of movement against Golovkin, stay away from Golovkin’s right hand, and jab constantly. Also, Geale needs to clinch as much as possible to keep Golovkin from loading up and landing anything significant. Although Geale is a slugger, he absolutely can’t afford to test his chin against GGG. Golovkin’s right hand is like a cannon and so Geale needs to outwork Gennady and try to outscore him on the judges’ scorecards.

Keys to victory for Gennady Golovkin: stay patient but use constant pressure throughout the fight. If Golovkin can get Geale to the corner, he can unleash a flurry of shots and possibly drop him or force a referee stoppage but it may not happen until the later rounds (Geale is just that damn tough). Golovkin does beautiful work to the body so any opportunities to fight on the inside should be Triple G’s chance to dig uppercuts to Geale’s bread basket. If Golovkin can control the tempo and the distance of the fight, he will probably stop Geale in the later rounds, as long as he sticks to his gameplan.

So who will win the fight? Although European boxers Sakio Bika and Sam Soliman predict that Geale will win tonight, Golovkin is a huge favorite to win. However, Geale can really make this a close fight. Unfortunately for Geale, Madison Square Garden is like a second home for Gennady Golovkin so Daniel will have to probably knock out GGG in order to win. Keep in mind that Gennady has had about 350 amateur boxing fights and he lost only 5 of those fights. Therefore, Gennady Golovkin is a pretty safe bet to win tonight. Golovkin will probably knock Geale down several times but we’re not sure if he will knock him out. If both men bring their “A” game, this fight could end up being a fight of the year candidate. When the smoke clears, expect Golovkin’s hand to be raised in victory and a world of opportunities to open up for the Kazakh star.

HBO Boxing presents a WBC heavyweight eliminator tonight between Bryant Jennings and Mike Perez tonight from New York’s Madison Square Garden. Both boxers have been nothing but classy in the build up to their showdown tonight, which is the co-main event of the Gennady Golovkin vs Daniel Geale fight.

Bryant Jennings (18-0, 10 KO’s), undefeated and promoted by Gary Shaw, will face his toughest test to date in Mike Perez (20-0-1, 12 KO’s) in a WBC title eliminator. Jennings is coming off an impressive knockout of former undefeated Polish slugger, Artur Szplika, and Perez is coming off a hard fought draw against relatively unknown Carlos Takam. Jennings stopped Szpilka in the 10th round of their fight at Madison Square Garden. Although Perez’ bout against Takam was ruled a draw, I scored the fight in Takam’s favor.

Perez, who battered Magomed Abdusalamov nearly to death at Madison Square Garden on November 02, 2013 in one of boxing’s recent tragedies, better not think that he will do the same to undefeated American heavyweight, Bryant Jennings. As we always say, styles make fights in combat sports, Jennings may end up being a nightmare opponent for the undefeated Cuban. Jennings displayed a more than adequate defense in his fight against Szpilka and he used good lateral movement and power to soften up his Polish foe before forcing a stoppage with just 20 seconds left in the 10th and last round of his fight.

Although both boxers possess power in both hands, Jennings is a better boxer with better defense. Perez is a strong puncher and he has a great chin. He can also defend and move pretty well but Bryant is, in my opinion, a modern day version of Evander Holyfield. Jennings is not a very big heavyweight but he’s big enough to survive AND thrive in heavyweight boxing today.

The keys to victory for Mike Perez are as follows: cut off the ring; stay active and walk down Jennings with a constant jab and combinations; work the body of Jennings’ from the start of the fight to slow down the American; force Jennings into a slugfest by smothering him and giving him no room to get off his punches. If Mike Perez can follow this gameplan, then he just might be able to knock down Jennings a few times or even knock him out or force a stoppage.

The keys to victory for Bryant Jennings: use a lot of lateral movement and footwork and jab, jab, jab; work Perez’ body to force him to tire earlier than he usually does; mix up the combinations between the body and the head and keep Perez guessing; avoid the clinch at all costs and stay off the ropes and DO NOT GET IN TO A SLUGFEST. If Jennings can employ this strategy, he will make Perez miss a lot of shots and tire him out. Whether or not Jennings has what it takes to stop Perez remains to be seen as Perez is the bigger man. At the weigh-ins yesterday, Jennings tipped the scales at a shredded 223 pounds and Perez weighed in at 242 pounds. The 20 pound weight difference can help Perez’ power punches but it can hurt him in the speed department.

So who will win tonight? Although both Mike Perez and Bryant Jennings have stated that they are willing to die in the ring tonight, we believe that Jennings will earn a hard fought decision. Jennings’ speed and versatility in the ring will most likely be too much for Perez and we wouldn’t be surprised if Jennings is even able to knock down Perez en route to a decision victory. For those betting boxing, we believe that the smart money is on betting favorite Bryant Jennings!! (This is in no way betting advice; simply our prediction for tonight’s fight)

Oscar De La Hoya and his Golden Boy Promotions will be presenting Canelo Alvarez vs Erislandy Lara tonight on Showtime boxing pay per view. The boxing event will be live from the sold out MGM Grand in Las Vegas. The fight is a non title bout. Both men are elite boxers who will either put on a somewhat boring and safe fight or they could go out guns blazing and give the fans a show. But the question remains: who will win and why?

Erislandy “The American Dream” Lara (19-1-2, 12 KO’s) is a Cuban boxer who has won gold at the World Amateur Championships in 2005 and 2006 at the welterweight limit. Lara also won a silver medal in Moscow in 2005 at the World Cup. In his professional boxing career, Erislandy Lara has faced and defeated Austin Trout (easily), knocked out Ronald Hearns (in the first round), Alfredo Angulo (via knock out), and Freddy Hernandez (via 10 round decision). The only loss on Lara’s resume is against Paul Williams in 2011 and anyone who watched that fight knows that Lara won that fight.

The Paul Williams decision win over Erislandy Lara was and still is one of the biggest robberies in boxing. Since that loss, the (southpaw) Cuban has gone on to win five fights in a row. Erislandy has been calling out Canelo Alvarez for a very long time and he finally got the fight against the Mexican superstar.

Lara barged into the post fight press conference after Canelo defeated Alfredo Angulo and demanded an answer to his challenge. Not since Antonio Tarver called out Roy Jones Jr at a press conference has such a fight been made immediately for the pay per view audience. And those who know boxing, know how Tarver went on to dethrone Jones, Jr (although it happened in their second fight).

Lara and Canelo share two common opponents: Alfredo Angulo and Austin Trout. Although Angulo dropped Lara twice in their fight, Lara came back to defeat Angulo. As for Austin Trout, Erislandy Lara defeated him easily, while Canelo struggled. Canelo, however, did defeat Angulo pretty easily and was never really hurt in their showtime boxing spectacle.

Those who sit at ringside boxing shows and know the background of both men know that this is a very tough fight to call. Even those into sports betting know that this could end up being a “too close to call” fight but surprisingly, the odds have been shifting more in Canelo’s favor. Vegas sports betting experts currently have Canelo as a -175 favorite (and that is inching up to -200 on some sites). Personally, I don’t understand how that can be since Lara is, by far, the superior boxer.

Oscar De La Hoya, the top guy at Golden Boy Promotions, has a lot riding on Canelo Alvarez. First off, Canelo is the top money maker for Golden Boy. Alvarez also has the handsome look and marketability that can appeal to women and casual fans alike. The ginger-haired boxer from Mexico is also a soft-spoken, nice guy who respects his opponents and isn’t classless like Adrienne Broner, Floyd Mayweather, or Derek Chisora. Canelo is a man who can be considered a true ambassador of the sport of boxing.

Although Canelo Alvarez (43-1-1, 31 KO’s) has lost only once, his loss was to boxing’s pound for pound star, Floyd Mayweather, Jr. There is absolutely no shame in losing to Mayweather. As in all combat sports, styles make fights, and so Lara vs Canelo is a nightmare match up for Alvarez. Showtime boxing has certainly done a great job of putting this fight on pay per view. With Canelo seeking to prove that his lone loss was and will be an anomaly, Lara is seeking to show the world that he is the true king of the light-middlweight division.

Boxing belts won’t matter in this fight as this is a non title fight.

Erislandy Lara will most likely win a decision against Canelo Alvarez. The Cuban’s precise boxing style will prove too much for the handsome Mexican, who will probably go into desperation mode as the fight progresses. Combat sports have shown that desperation later in a fight leads to mistakes and so Lara might be able to drop Canelo if and when that happens. Alvarez, however, is too good to get knocked out so he will put everything into every punch. The only way I see Canelo defeating Lara is if Lara chooses to trade with Canelo. Erislandy is too smart to do that so don’t look for an all out war in this one.

If for some reason the fight is close, look for the judges at ringside to score the fight in Canelo’s favor. Alvarez is clearly the more marketable fighter and he is Oscar De La Hoya’s and Golden Boy’s top star. Hopefully, there won’t be any sort of robbery tonight. The people in attendance and those watching on the big screen deserve better. Hopefully, both boxers will give the fans around the world a show to remember. Besides, isn’t that what combat sports are all about?

TRENDING FIGHTERS: Canelo Alvarez, Erislandy Lara, Oscar De La Hoya, Austin Trout, Manny Pacquiao, Floyd Mayweather, Miguel Cotto

Australian boxer, Michael “The Great” Katsidis (29-6, 24 KO’s) will face Graham “The Duke Of” Earl (26-4, 12 KO’s) for the WBU lightweight boxing title from the Convention Centre Toowoomba in Australia on July 04, 2014. Their first match up was in Earl’s hometown of London, England and the fight took place at the Wembley Arena. Michael Katsidis defeated Graham Earl in February 2007 in round 5 via TKO for the vacant interimWBO lightweight title. Regardless of who won back in 2007, each man is worthy of being considered a world champion.

Anyone near the Convention Centre Toowoomba should get these hot tickets because those at ringside will be treated to one hell of a war! Neither man cares much for defense and neither man is afraid to get hit in order to land a trademarked bomb on his opponent.

Both men made the 135 pound weight for their clash on July 04th but security had to quickly separate both boxers as they were ready to throw hands right at the scales. Whether or not these men are trying to sell tickets at the Convention Centre Toowoomba or they genuinely hate each other, the one that is certain is that Australian fans will be treated to a worthwhile boxing event.

Regardless of the fact that few American boxing sites might cover this fight, we are one of the few who will report out on the outcome.

As for a prediction: Katsidis will probably defeat Earl once again but it may end up going longer than the 5 rounds that the first fight went. Look for a referee stoppage or a straight knockout by Katsidis but as you all know: in combat sports, anything is possible.

Who do you predict to win? And how?

HBO Boxing and Top Rank Promotions will present a title boxing card on Saturday, June 28th 2014, live from the CenturyLink Center in Omaha, Nebraska. The main event will be Terence Crawford (23-0, 16 KO’s) defending his WBO lightweight title against 50 Cent promoted fighter, Yuriorkis Gamboa (23-0, 16 KO’s).

Boxing belts are a plenty in modern day boxing so let’s put aside the fact that this match up is for the WBO lightweight title. It’s interesting to point out that both men share identical undefeated records (23-0, 16 KO’s), which is very rare. Both men also came in below the mandatory weight of 135 pounds. Crawford weighed in at 134.8 lbs and Gamboa came in at 134.4 lbs. The two main eventers looked completely shredded at the scales and their intense staredown had to be broken up forcefully by their respected camps. As a side note, Gamboa has had issues making weight in the past so the fact that he made weight tonight says a lot about his level of commitment for this fight.

Terence Crawford has defeated Ricky Burns in Burns’ hometown of Glasgow, Scotland and Crawford has also defeated hard hitting boxer, Breidis Prescott. Ringside boxing gurus are all too familiar with the fact that Breidis Prescott is the man to hand Amir Khan his first professional loss via knockout in September 2008. He knocked Khan out in the very first round. Crawford’s victory over the Colombian (Breidis) spoke volumes about his skillset.

Yuriorkis Gamboa has defeated Orlando Salido, Jorge Solis, and the recently retired, Daniel Ponce De Leon. Although that’s an impressive accomplishment, we cannot see anyone on his resume that has the boxing skills that Terence Crawford has. And none of Gamboa’s victims are as hard hitting as Breidis Prescott. Sure, 50 Cent is a great rapper/entertainer and a pretty good promoter, we just believe that his stable’s stud, Yuriorkis Gamboa is going to get outboxed by Terence Crawford in Crawford’s hometown of Omaha, Nebraska. If the fight is close, we expect the judges to award the hometown boy to get the decision victory.

The co main event of this boxing event is a 10 round fight: Matt Korobov vs. Jose Uzcategui. Both men weighed in at the middleweight limit of 160 pounds.

Here is the list of the fighters on the card along with what they weighed in (according to Fightnews.com):

Mikael Zewski 146.8 vs. Prince Doku Jr 146.2
Casey Ramos 134.6 vs. Guillermo Sanchez 134.2
Konstantin Ponomarev 150.4 vs. Joseph De los Santos 152.2
Vic Pasillas ?? vs. Jiovany Fuentes 122.8
Bernard Davis 125 vs. Heath Cline 125.2
Cody Crowley 153.5 vs. Ronnie Peterson 156
Johnny Determan 117.4 vs. Ernie Marquez 117

TRENDING FIGHTERS: Evander Holyfield, Amir Khan, Adriene Broner, Sugar Ray Leonard, Roberto Duran, Tommy Hearns

Although Vasyl Lomachenko is almost a 2:1 favorite to win tonight’s title boxing fight against American Gary Russell Jr., the odds have been shrinking in the last few days. This spectacular boxing event will take place tonight in the Stub Hub Center in Carson, California and it will be the co main event of the Showtime boxing event tonight. Most boxing experts and boxing sites know that this fight is the true main event as Robert Guerrero vs Yoshihiro Kamegai isn’t as intriguing as this match up.

For those who are into betting boxing, per FightNews.com: “The Top Rank-promoted Ukrainian star is currently a -190 favorite against Golden Boy fighter Russell, who is at +165. The over/under is 9.5 rounds with “over” at -370, the “under” is +310.”

Lomachenko (1-1, 1 KO) and Russell (24-0, 14 KO’s) will battle for the vacant WBO featherweight championship, which Lomachenko lost to Orlando Salido in March 2014. Since Salido was unable to make weight for that fight, he wasn’t eligible to win the title, despite the fact that he won that fight via split decision. For those who watched it, Salido fought dirty the entire 12 rounds and the referee did nothing about it.

The 2008 U.S. Olympian, Russell, doesn’t believe that the two time Olympic gold medalist, Lomachenko, poses any threat to him in this fight. The American believes that he’s faster, stronger, bigger, and has better footwork than the Ukrainian star. Although we agree with most of his boasting, we don’t believe that he’s the bigger fighter. Lomachenko towers over the American and although the Ukrainian isn’t as muscular as Russell, he’s still shredded and he looked significantly bigger than the American at yesterday’s weigh ins.

Combat sports are all about styles because styles make fights. Having said that, we believe that Gary Russell, Jr. is going to put on one hell of a show tonight. His speed and footwork will most likely cause Lomachenko a lot of problems throughout the fight. For those sitting at ringside, the difference in speed and tempo will be evident from the opening round. Unless Lomachenko is able to time his shots very precisely, there is no way that he is going to stop the American. Russell will expose a lot of holes in Lomachenko’s game tonight and the boxing world will probably shun the Ukrainian’s impressive 396-1 amateur record as a result of this (potential) loss.

If you’re into sports betting and you’d like to make some money, we believe the smart money is on Golden Boy Promotions fighter, Gary Russell, Jr. to defeat Top Rank fighter, Vasyl Lomachenko via unanimous decision tonight.

Golden Boy promotes Robert “The Ghost” Guerrero vs Yoshihiro Kamegai on June 21st in Carson, California from the Stub Hub Center. On paper, it’s a very good fight because both men like to slug it out and give the fans a show. So who will win and why?

The more impressive resume belongs to “The Ghost” since he has fought and beaten Andre Berto, Michael Katsidis, Joel Casamayor, and Selcuk Aydin. Those are all men who were upper echelon fighters when Robert fought them and Guerrero came out on top against them all. Guerrero has a solid chin, he can box very well, and he can throw combinations very effectively. Also, his uppercut is thrown beautifully. These are all advantages for Guerrero.

However, Yoshihiro Kamegai sports a (24-1, 21 KO’s) record, which is very impressive. His knockout percentage is very high and he is the taller, bigger fighter. Guerrero is not used to being the smaller fighter so this might be an advantage for Kamegai. The Japanaese star is also a slugger so he won’t be too hard to find when Guerrero decides to let his hands go.

Since Robert Guerrero’s loss to Floyd Mayweather in May 2013, Guerrero has taken time off to just let his body heal and his mind heal. Robert became the first well known boxer to join the Crossfit movement, which explains his chiseled physique at the weigh ins. Although there is no shame in losing to pound for pound king, Floyd Mayweather, Robert Guerrero might not be ready psychologically to face as tough an opponent as Kamegai. Sometimes, boxers break down mentally after a defeat and that may just be the case with Guerrero. Is he still the same boxer he was when he faced Mayweather? Or is he damaged goods?

Most boxing sites and people into betting boxing are predicting a Guerrero victory over Kamegai; they are picking Guerrero based on his resume. Although that is understandable, and we agree that Guerrero will most likely win a hard fought decision, Guerrero is still human and he just may not be the same fighter since his last fight was a loss to Floyd Mayweather. Will Guerrero really be better than ever in his return to title boxing? Or will Guerrero be on a rapid decline after a loss to Kamagai?

(Please note that we are not a sports betting site. Therefore, these predictions are our very own opinions of who we believe will win a fight, and not betting advice in any way, shape, or form)

Trending fighters: Robert Guerrero, Yoshihiro Kamegai, Oscar De La Hoya, Shane Mosley, Marvin Hagler, Floyd Mayweather, Manny Pacquiao, Marcos Maidana, Tommy Hearns, Roberto Duran
